Hi guys, i finally bought what i wanted a 40 gallon rimless tank.

its made out of 1/2 acrylic

Dimensions are 30x20x12D

So i am looking for ideas on plumbing this setup, i want to do an overflow, but not sure were i should drill the tank, on the bottom or on the back, I would love to drill a hole on the bottom so everything is hidden.

The bottom of the tank is i believe 3/8 inch thick, will this be easy to drill, i also have a couple of sheets of 1/4 inch acrylic and 1/8 inch. was wondering if i should just make an overflow by myself, also the reason why i worry drilling the tank on the bottom, in case my overflow decides to fail.

I still need to build a stand for this as well.

I would love to hear ideas or comments,

center bottom buy yourself 4 pices of black acrylic make a box like (4"x12" - 4 piceces) cut some buffles and its awsome tank

On such a sweet tank I would use one of the Xaqua InOut overflows. It will not take any space inside your tank, but you will need about 3 in. space behind. Check out my build thread if you want to see how it looks. You can get it locally from Best Fish, Brian is a distributor for those. Just an idea if you want something different.
