Need ID help - AGAIN.

I'm really sorry about the constant need of helping to ID things - and I really do appreciate you guys! Lol.

Found these on my magnet algae scrubber thing. When I moved it towards the front of the tank to get a better look - 2 fell off and floated around the tank. My percs chased them till one caught one in it's mouth, then it released it realizing it wasn't food I guess.

They look like little tiny cotton balls, or spider egg pouches that you find on thr garage door. They have little holes at the top, with little hairs sticking out.. They're ONLY on my glass cleaner that I've seen so far. I'm going to end up taking them off regardless - but I just want to know what they are, and if I should worry about the 2 that are floating around my tank.

Thanks again guys!

they are pinapple sponges.. they are harmless.. they are filter feeders.. good for ur tank :)

They'll die back too. Every time set up a new tank I get a huge population boom of them, and then about a month later 90% of them die off.

Oh really? There's only the ones on the cleaner that I have found so far, and the 2 floaters. I just don't want it to look like there is cotton ball colonies in my tank. Lol.
