OK guys so I wanna get my 105 up and running in a few weeks, I'll be transferring everything over how long would you recommend me letting everything sit for in the new tank? I'll have all brand new dry rock along with most of my live rock from my current tanks I don't wanna kill anything. I also will not have the proper protein skimmer till after the holidays is this okay or should I wait everything out till I get my new skimmer?
 
I think for the skimmer, it won't help much. What I would be worried about is the cycle.

I've seen Dr. Tims and all that jazz but I've never used it. I just do it the right way and cycle it slowly till there is no more ammonia and nitrite.

Since there is dry rock that will cause a cycle.. mini or not. Not sure how small or how big are you going to/from toward to the 105?
 
I used Dr. Tims on my last tank as well as the current on and have had no issues. But IMHO i'd wait till I had the skimmer.
