Blue star Polyps are getting blown all over my tank. Wife loves them. We both are OK with them on a contained rock. Our question: How best to get rid of zillion of them spreading like a wild fire in a 500g tank?? Can anything be bought that will eat them and not damage anything else like tube worms , inverts or corals etc? Appreciate your input and thanks

That has the potential to kill all of your pods, other soft corals, and the bacteria in/on your live rock and sand. Tread carefully...

I did my full SPS tank with no problem...All Blue Glove gone..my pair of mandarin still have plenty of pod..Of course you need to treat careful..

I know when I tried getting rid of my aptasia I used aptasiax and wanted to try to see if using that would kill of some xenia and it did. But I gave the xenia a larger dose than the recommended for the aptasia. They slowly melted away after a few treatments. I think it would be worth trying out.

Osama that's what I mentioned to you on Saturday the Dog De-wormer did on my 120 for Xenia and puff gone.I also had other softs it affected some but not others my leather, some snails didn't make it but the cabbage, zoas did I'll send you some before and after pictures tank

I utilize Aiptasia-X to eliminate singular clove polyps that persist after my rock rip-out before when they went nuts in my tank. Physical elimination works as well, although that's harder to deal unless the nuisance polyps are on plugs. If you've got a large number of polyps, Aiptasia-X wouldn't cut it, but it's great for any remote pop-ups.

And I'm with @Maidai on this one, I can't stand the things. They look great... in other people's tanks. :P

Osama I had blue clove polyps everywhere in my 180 gallon tank. I used Fluke Tabs about 4 months ago and it worked great. The problem is, they do not sell them anymore. Follow maidia's link and use the ingredient that is listed. The only downside I had was a massive die off of bcp. I started to get cyano on the sand bed. I did more water changes and kept nutrients low. Today, I have just a small patch of cyano left over.

I say go for it. I could not stand looking at all the blue clove polyps in my sps dominant tank.

I just started to kill BSP manually, a segment at it a time by using a clean brush and brushing them off while having an external canister filter close by the area I am working on.... So far no damage to other corals when I do it weekly followed by water change
