Then will move on to the tank, a Jbj rl-45.

Nice! I'd love to have a mixing station. Someday when I'm no longer in apartments

Do you have any plans/diagrams for your mixing station?

Curious to learn how you plan to transfer water during water changes :)

No real plans/diagrams, just some hand sketched drawing.

unfortunately water changes won't be any different, I will still be carrying water from the basement upstairs to the tank. I do 5g changes now, that will only change to 10g with the rl-45.

I'd I get bored tomorrow I'll post mine up. My mixing station has a 35g of rodi and a 35g of sw ran off of one pump. By switching valves I can fill either tank or use it to fill my sump after draining it for a wc

I use an Eheim 1260 to pump 10 or more gallons upstairs, from one Brute to the second. Then wheel Brute to tank.

Thats my plan. Exept im going to try to pump right over the rim to tank...even if its very slow. I guess i could pump it to the supply chamber in my sump also and save about 4/6ft of head height....

Where did you get the water containers?

I've been thinking for a while about building an Apex coordinated auto water change, but haven't got past thinking :(
The catch is making sure the same amount of water is pumped out as is pumped in...

Even though my sump and mixing is done in the basement, I'm :TIRED OF BUCKETS:

I use a mag 9.5 to pump water up from the basement to my tank on the main level. If I fill the sump, I have no head or flow problems, but just the extra 3+ft to fill the main display slows the flow WAY DOWN.

This is a project im going for in the summer. As im placing the hose under a kithen cabinet where the kickboard will be a sliding kickboard where the hose will have an attachment to an extra hose to the sump next to it....
I may even build a stand in the basement thats 3ft off the basement floor just so i can place the container and save thr extra 3 ft

A suggestion to anyone doing anything like this. Get as big of a pump as you can lol. I use a mag18 wide open as a return pump on my tank pumping it up from basement and I thought about changing it to a mag 24. For my mixing station I use a external pump (forgot the size but strong) to pump the water 9' up and over to my sump.

My sumps in the cabinet....and my water station is in basement. So id like to have a basement sump. But for now. This is the best method for me. Even if it means running multiple pumps.

If you can get away with it I went through my floor vents to bring my plumbing up. Just an idea if u have a floor vent near the tank. It hides everything and if u ever get rid of tank u can just put a new register in. I'm only persistent about basement tanks cause it's literally the thing ever lol. If you wanna swing by your welcome to come examine mine.

I'm doing similar...spa flex run from living room to the basement...25' run! Sump in the basement near the slop sink is awesome! Just gotta complete the auto water change to eliminate the bucket brigade to the slop sink~

If anyone's in need, I've got ~25' of 1-1/2" and 1" spa flex left over.
