Earlier this afternoon, I stopped in to New Fish to get some pre-mixed RO for a water change. Since moving to the South Loop, I've been looking for my LFS "home." Well, I've found it!!! I ended up walking out with an amazing piece of Sun Coral and a few different frags. The prices are great and the service was even better.

It looks as if they do everything right, all livestock is quarantined for a week prior to being put out for sale. I was lucky enough to see the "behind the scenes" area of the store, and I must admit, it was a reefers dream! I look forward to my next visit, it is awesome to have a great LFS located in the city.

For those of you that have not been, please check it out! You will not be disappointed!

:deal:Quite the promoter. Most people introduce themselves via post 1. Thanks for the info and welcome to the site.

I've been back there and there is more fish in the QT then there are in their DTs. I was in there 2 weeks ago and the tanks were bare except for the fish that they have had for a few months already, like that $100 yellow assesor. The store is ran by a great guy but it's been in decline since last year, where saltwater is concerned. The corals are lackluster and common and he doesn't have much stock in terms of fish or coral. The stunner pieces are in that huge DT tank but he refuses to frag any of them. Those colonies are huge in there and he could make a killing with just a few frags of those babies.

As I said in my last review of this place on here, he's my go-to guy for the Marco Rock, as I beleive he's the only LFS in the area that carrys it. Everyone is friendly and his sales are great. He needs to get a handle on that bubble and hair algae problem in the frag tanks though. I think his freshwater sales are keeping him afloat, but he's probably the last LFS I go to when I need something for my tank, and he's closer to me than any of my favorite stores are by at least 30 minutes.

james, the owner, and his staff are all very helpful. i got most of my fish from New Fish. if you ever are looking for something, ask him and he will usually try to find it for you. it is a nice store and only 10 minutes away.
