New frags browning?

I picked up a good amount of frags last week. Some didn't miss a best. Kept color looking great. Now the ones on plugs look great no change if anything for the better. But the fresh cut frags some are looking a little lite or browning a little bit. These either came from led or radiums. I'm wondering do u think it's just the stress from being flagged them moved to New lighting. I also glued all of them. None are doing bad. All polyps are out and corals are actually healing nicely where they were cut. Just a few browning. So I moved them to less light Any ideas.

Hmm. If they came from under Radions and you have now moved them to "less light", you will need to define "less light". This could be causing them to brown. Also if your nutrients are too high. Fragging in and of itself would not (should not) cause browning. Too little light or too many nutrients are likely culprits.

I went to t5 and they aren't really browning. More fading a little. And it's a couple green coral. I'm sure they are getting more light. I'm gonna pull my 6500k and replace it with a aqua blue plus. I like that bulb. I already replaced a purple plus with a blue plus. I think its just a lot of high par low k that's doing it. My nutrients are undetectable. I have a basketball size cheato growing and a brs gfo reactor with about 3/4 the recommend gfo in it. I'll try the bulb change. Anyone with experience with the 6500k doing this

I will second EricTheRed's suggestion of too little light or too many nutrients.

I don't believe changing bulb to a different color temperature will achieve the results you're looking for. Although, it might help with increasing PAR values and skewing the light to a more desired appearance. New frags need ample time to adjust to your water conditions. You can help speed up the process by making sure your parameters are stable, fall between accepted levels, and the coral is placed carefully balancing proper light levels and water flow amounts. I would gradually move the frag up towards the light an inch or two a week until its color improves.

I agree with the above statments, could be also a temp swing from one tank to another. I know for sure a temp swing can cause browning along with low light. Depending on the Acro some require a sun bath and some are mid level. Move him up in the next few days or move it up enough so it's getting enough light. As long as your nutrients are low you should be fine. As for changing out the 6500K bulb I don't think it would effect the coral that much but depending on how long your T-5 bulbs been in service they could very well need a changing. A GE 6500K has the most par value next to the Blue Plus so your losing par if you take it out of service.

Freaking genus. My buddy runs his around 76. I usually run at that too. But a few days ago I increased my temps to 79. Then the Colors faded. I'm turning temp back down. Also I'm not sure how old the bulbs are. I was told 3 months but who knows. I have one new blue plus. Jsut ordered two coral plus. I'll replace the other 3 blue plus in a few weeks. So that's 3 new now and 3 a month later. I'll be running F to B

Blue plus
Blue plus
Coral plus
Blue plus
Coral plus
Blue plus.

That works cause most corals are toward the back.
