I'm happy to announce that I will now be carrying new full spectrum PAR38 LED bulbs on http://www.coralcompulsion.com

There are two models available, a 20k version and a 14k version. The 20k is very blue, and makes coral colors pop like crazy! And the 14k is more white, but with the additional colored leds makes colors look even better compared to standard 14k bulbs. Not to mention, these colored LEDs are specifically chosen because the represent very specific spectrums used for coral growth.

The combinations feature the following:

20k Full Spectrum
-6 Blue 455nm
-2 Cool White
-2 True Violet
-1 Cyan 495nm
-1 Deep Red 660nm

Here is what the layout will look like.

14k Full Spectrum
-4 Blue 455nm
-4 Cool White
-2 True Violet
-1 Cyan 495nm
-1 Deep Red 660nm

I will be getting limited quantities of these bulbs, because the chips for the specific spectrum cyan and true violets which are compatible with my circuits are in limited supply right now. So I am offering pre orders for the first shipment of these bulbs on my website. I will only be receiving 4 of each combo, so if you want one, act fast. The bulbs will be shipping, or available for pickup the week of July 9th.

And as if these cool new bulbs aren't enough, I'm also happy to add that I am dropping the price of my standard 36w 20k and 14k bulbs to $94.99! So if you are looking to get into LED, but not break the bank, check them out.

You can pre order the new full spectrums, or check out the standard bulbs here: http://coralcompulsion.com/led

And while you're there, don't forget to pick up a Lamp Clamp to mount your bulb on your tank!

Yes, I may want to get one of these in the near future for a small frag holding tank I'm going to plumb inside my stand. At these prices to light a small tank, I can't DIY a light any cheaper! That 14k must look amazing!!!!

I would like to try one soon on a 10gal to test..

Just let me know. I'm getting 4 of each in this order. Then at least that many per order in following orders.

Sounds good. That's the beauty of these, you can mount them in pretty much any fixture to fit your space, and they are very reasonably priced! The 14K is great. I'm usually more of a 20k person myself, but these look so nice. I had one sample of each to test on my own tanks, and I had someone come to pick up a standard 14k and when they saw the full spectrum 14k, they liked it so much that they begged me to sell them my sample, so I did :) Just let me know when you want to pick one up, otherwise I can ship it too. I'll be getting them the week of the 9th, so depending on the number of preorders, there may be some available.

just gotta say man.. ur lights are getting better and better man.. like im about to toss my rapid led ones.. ur light covers more area then rapidleds and my corals like it much better

is that including the clip that u have or no?

Thanks man! The clip is $39.99, but if you want to buy a combo I can knock $10 off, so you would be looking at about $140 for a bulb and clamp combo.

good lookin stuff

Thanks!

Would one of these be plenty for a 29 gal nano cube?

That is about 20" x 20" x 20" right? It really depends on what you keep in the tank. With the 90degree optics, this spreads the light about 18" x 18" evenly, and should give you more than enough light for most corals.

sweet put me down for a preorder bro..

If you want me to guarantee you one in this shipment, you will have to place the order on my site and when they arrive, I will ship it or let you know its available for pickup. If you want to get the combo discount, use coupon code "LEDCOMBO" to save the $10.

Otherwise, once they arrive, I'll let everyone know what is still available, and you can get it then. They should be arriving in a couple weeks. So far there are two 20ks and three 14ks still available from this upcoming shipment.

Jimmy, I just noticed the way you spec out the leds in the bulb as "blue" not "royal blue". Wouldnt the 455nm actually be classified as a royal blue led?

FYI. First shipment presale bulbs sold out.

However, I will be getting another order of just full spectrum bulbs, shortly after the first shipment arrives. Hopefully the end of the week of the 9th, or the following week. I will keep you all updated, and as usual Chicago Reefs will be the first to know :)

I know this is an older thread but...... I just picked one of these up for a 20x18 rimless I built and WOW
My first go at L.E.D. and I could not be more pleased. Great service and support . This bulb in 20k is not at all "too blue" but really sharp and crisp. I am very pleased! Plus got a cool acan that I wasn't expecting. :)
