Hey guys. My name is Rich and I was referred here by a current member who is 98silverado who happens to be my neighbor

I haven't had a tank for a long time due to health reasons but I'm finally ready to get another tank. I would love to do a 40 breeder but not sure what all I need to get or what I should get haha.

Any suggestions would be great and I can't wait to see some of the amazing setups that Silverado keeps talking about

Yeah. I had Jr. Come help me out with it. That's who's posting now. Will he be able to use a computer and access the forum?

Yeah I just don't want to be like the other people and just say nice tank on 20 different posts. But I'll do my best

Welcome, enjoy the forum! there are a lot of great people on here, don't be afraid to ask questions.
Thank you. And trust me I will be. I am seeing a lot of LED. Never used them. Always used T5. And probably always will. Always had good growth and color with them

I actually went with a combo, LED light with 2 T5 retrofit kits. Still too early to tell if i will get good growth or not lol

Welcome aboard. Glad you got some computer help to get you going.

Getting you up to 20 is very easy....

What type of tank did you keep in the past? Use a couple posts to tell us a little about it. Any lessons that you remember from back in the day that people may learn from? Or any of the reason that kept you going in the hobby back in the day? Quick posts on anything like this, just one post per thought and you'll be at 20 in underan hour all without spamming threads with "nice tank" :D

Welcome to the site. Like Jr states, some info on past setups or experience would be helpful to many on the site. Looking forward to seeing your next setup.

I would have to say the biggest two things I learned in my time was patience. You rush and stuff just ends up coming back to bite you and hard. And if you can don't cheap on important stuff. I went cheap on a couple things like chemicals and I wish I could take it back. That led to my big crash

Oh and another thing is QT as much as possible. Even if you get the fish from a store you always go to still QT. learned that lesson the hard way for sure.

My most recent setup was a 150 LPS with a couple SPS. Always used T5 but can't remember anything else it's been so long haha. But seeing all these beautiful tanks on here make me want one more and more
