Hello everyone. I just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce some new and improved Coral Compulsion lighting products!

First up is our new and improved 14k and 20k Vibrance series PAR38 bulbs. These bulbs will be replacing our previous standard blue and white only bulbs, and best of all, will actually be dropping in price! Both are now only $89.99 each!

All Vibrance series bulbs utilize a combination of 12000k white, 455nm deep blue, and 420nm true violet leds to get the extra vibrant pop of color from your flourescent corals!

In addition to our already popular PAR38 bulbs, I am happy to announce a new PAR30 line of led bulbs. PAR30 bulbs are smaller and lighter than PAR38s, weighing only 8oz. while still packing 7 3watt leds running at 2w each.

There are currently two PAR30s to choose from. Both of which are also compatible with our Lamp Clamp fixtures, or any other standard screw in fixture. And either PAR30 bulb is only $59.99 each!

The 18k Vibrance series PAR30, which contains 3 12000k white, 3 455nm Deep blue, and 1 420nm True Violet, is just like its bigger Vibrance series PAR38 brothers. However, this bulb is meant for smaller nano and pico size tanks or under cabinet frag tanks, and comes standard with 60 degree optics and has a spread of about 12" x 12".

And the PAR30 Refugium Grow bulb, which contains 3 6500k whites, 2 deep blue, and 2 deep red leds. This combination of leds is designed to help increase the growth of most marine macro algae. It also comes standard with 120 degree optics and a spread of about 21" x 21".

Also, remember that all Coral Compulsion PAR bulbs are covered by a 3 Year Warranty, including the new PAR30 bulbs.

You can also see any of our PAR bulbs in person at any of the upcoming frag shows we will be attending, including Fragstock this Saturday in WI.

And as always, if you have any questions at all, please let me know. Thanks!

I see grow lights have almost all reds and some blues, is that applicable to macro algaes as well?

Very similar. In simple terms, when it comes to photosynthesis in plants, red light is the primary light used by plants for growth. Red light equals fast growth. Blue light however, contains more energy than red light, and also is better at penetrating through water. Blue light also leads to stronger prolonged growth. That is why you will see some grow bulbs with just those two colors, because those are the two main colors plants use.

However, just blue and red lights aren't necessarily pleasing to the human eye, and also lacks a few other spectrums that also benefit plant growth some, which is why I add white leds also. The white leds added to these bulbs are 6500k leds which contain more of the red and yellow spectrums than the more whiter or bluer whites, therefore add to the beneficial spectrums. The combination of all three of these colors I have found to lead to a better all around refugium bulb than just reds and blues.

Seriously great job jim in coming out with awesome products bro.. Im lovin all the led lights.

yes the prices are awesome ... made it even more tempting to me to turn my nano into sw nano

I just picked up a couple of PAR38 Vibrance bulbs last night. He's not kidding these are some great looking bulbs! I love the pop with these... you'll see them on my build thread once I get a chance to update. On top of that, Jimmy's just a great guy. You can't go wrong here.

Oh, and by the way, I forgot to mention that the winner of the Summer Paly grow out competition will be getting one of the PAR38 Vibrance bulbs :)

Also, thank you to all my customers for your continued support!

Dear Jimmy,

Can this 20k Vibrance bulb be right for 20gl nano reef oriented to SPS corals?
Or would you recommend 14k full spectrum bulb better for SPS?
Now Im in the process of strating my 20 gl (Aqua medic Blenny) tank and already bought from you Coral Compulsion 36w Par38 LED 20k Vibrance Reef Light.
But unfortunately later on came across a message saying SPS corals would thrive better under whiter collors(...And this bulb seems to be a blue one..
So, now Im wondering how big the mistake Ive made is..
Many thanks for your comments!

You will be fine with the 20k. Using a 20k bulb will actually help to increase the color on sps. I keep sps under 20k full spectrum bulbs, and they do great, both growth and color. And anyways, if you are not happy with the color once you receive it and get it setup, you can always exchange it for a 14k, just let me know. Above all, I always want my customers to be happy :)

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks.
