Hello I am wondering what some of your guys ideas are on a new 55 gallon tank that i picked up. Its just the tank and I am looking for some ideas on equipment and what not. I plan on mainly trying to grow coral in this tank. Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I dont want to get too expensive im looking at a $200 light but not sure if leds or what to get and probably to grow lps corals like zoos, Brains and the small stuff just trying to get a little side thing going to support the saltwater hobby. Im looking on Craigslist and looking for some deals i have nothing but the tank and water not pumps or anything.

LEDs will be more costly up front but the long term cost will be lower due to less energy and no bulb replacement. You won't be able to get leds for less than $200. You'll need a skimmer that hangs in the back if your tank or an in sump one if that is the route your going. Of course you'll need live rock. You'll need a heater. You'll need some type of power heads for flow or a return pump if you have a sump. Personally, I'd never do a tank without a sump because I don't want all of the equipment junking up the display tank. The possibilities are endless and none of them are cheap.

Not sure what you mean by side thing to support the hobby?
