I was thinking of making it a jawfish tank. But now I was thinking a pair of snow flake clowns or something similar.

If I take established live Rock from my 72 gallon along with a cup or two of sand and start it off with water from the 72 as well. Will it still cycle?

Post your nano's for inspiration.

I just started a nuvo 8 build thread. Should be a very quick cycle since I'll be adding some sand and live rock from my 75. I would advise against the clowns unless you plan on eventually moving them to a larger aquarium as they will outgrow that cube. Jaw fish are a great idea. I'm even thinking about a clown goby.

Just subscribed to your thread. I noticed that on live aquaria clowns are said to be ok in 10g tanks. Is it the pair idea that you would be against?

If u do a pearly jawfish. U'll b ok... And blue spot will require lower water temps... Like 70-72

As for clown. They should b ok for a while... If u get small... Mine have 150 gallons and don't travel farther then like 6" each way!

Pair of clowns with an anemone would be just fine in that tank.. U can also go with a jawfish .. I suggest upgrading the light on the cube maybe retrofitting some LEDs in there

I heard blue spots will do fine in warm temps...friend of mine has kept one for over a year in a temp of 78/79 degrees

Thanks for all the advice. Will let you know what way I go.

I am looking at LEDs. I was told the power supply is already upgraded to allow LEDs. I've found many replacement hoods with LEDs for larger. Can't seem to find the 12 gallon kits.

Huh the must have taken it out.. But the biocube 14 and 8 led retrofits should do well in the tank .. Or u can have some our handy guys over hear build u one..(I'm not one .lol)

LEDs are so much easier than it seems. I have a driver or two here if you want. A heatsink,,fan and the LEDs your good to go. Check out ledgroupbuy.com. great site of you don't mind a little wait. Rapid ships really fast. The jawfish will need a decently deep sand bed from what I understand. Clowns can be very territorial in smaller tanks. Better stick to a rock dwelling fish. Tailspot blenny is cool fish. My clowns love frogspawn and hammers. I'm afraid you won't be able to keep a nem for a little while. I have a few frags to give away. Pm me.

I just upgraded the lighting on my 14g bc with leds. I gutted the hood, but left the fans in working order. I installed 2 twelve inch led strips. Cost me $125, and I think it looks great, and my corals are liking it too.

Thanks for all the advice and help. There is a new member who wants to get into salt water and is on a budget. He's 15. I offered to sell him this tank plus a bag of sand and some food to start him off for the same price I paid for the tank. He's talking to his parents.
