Nori Surgery

Last night after feeding my fishies nori my queen angel was choking to death on a piece! It quickly nose dived to the bottom and quickly sucked up to my mp60. I grabbed the poor baby and used tweezers to pull the nori from the throat and held her in front of the mp60 to help gain breath back. With all of this being said I saved her life and she swam away and is eating everything today. Just wondering if anyone else has had a fish choke to death on nori?? Should I soak it first before feeding?

Whoa good save never seen one choke on nori but had one choke on mysis and die. Also saw one on river monsters he found cokeing on anoyher fish that was to big for him to eat so apparently fish have no table manners

My sons Midas Blenny chokes on mysis every time we are feeding the other inhabitants. It's quite disturbing to watch and sometimes lasts SEVERAL minutes. I hope I don't have that happen. I don't think my son or I would handle that death well. Thanks for the story... I have no basis for this but I'd say soak the nori prior going forward.

Dr. Mike! Nice save! You are fish ER certified now.

Back in my fresh water days I had an 7-8 inch red oscar choke on a 3 inch pleco it tried to eat tail first. The mouth was hooked on the pectoral fins. Had to remove it with pliers.
