Meet Carlos, our Scrawled Cowfish (Acanthostracion quadricornis)!

I caught hand caught him in a TShirt net while trying to catch shrimp for bait for shark fishing. At just under 1.5", he's a model citizen and thus far, perfectly reef safe. Can't wait to get him home to Chicago tomorrow and see him grow to his full 22" size!

I got him our school's boat canal on campus. He was hanging in some sea grass in waist deep water, evidently!

United Airlines lost my box of fish related stuff (lights, pumps, coral, and CARLOS!)! I'm hopeful, though, as they lost the box somewhere in Florida, where it's warm, and this fish is found in some pretty cool water. Fingers crossed!

Damn sorry to hear about that Ben. United Sucks.... they all do. Of course you could not carry him on as TSA would think he could be hiding explosives... what a sad joke. I hope you find him and he is ok.

They found my box and delivered him today; everything made it! I'll take some pictures of Carlos once he colors up again; he's mad at me for putting him in a bag for ~40 hours.
