PH Swings

I have recently put a new probe on my apex and this is the first time I have actually been monitoring the PH in my aquarium. It slowly fluctuates from 7.8 to 8.1 back and forth daily. Pretty much the same cycle every day. I have over 400 gallons of water in my system. I used an air intake to my skimmer from outside as well as run a reverse cycle on my lighting for my fuge. My top off water goes through a kalk reactor and is on a timer so the same amount is dosed on a consistent cycle.

I was wondering for anyone with an apex, reef keeper etc what is your average PH swing in a day? Just curious to what others are experiencing.

How frequently does it change? If they're not calibrated just right they can vary like that, but more likely it could just be because you have a MASSIVE water volume and it uses a lot of minerals which will greatly vary your pH since its only being measure in one location. Just like tank temps being different in different locations, your pH can vary slightly especially considering your volume.

Everyday it is pretty much the same pattern. This is the last 7 days

Your pH swings are common and nothing to be alarmed about. I swing from 7.9 (am) to 8.25 (pm) everyday. If there is a high CO2 content in the air in your house then you can do all the right things and still have lower pH.
