Plans/Ideas for a 75gal closed canopy?

I know I can just start building one completely from scratch but I was wondering if anyone came across plans for a standard 75gal Canopy.

Lighting:
-2 250w MH pendants - being that they're pendants, Im thinking about having them basically sit on top and/or partically out of the top of the 'closed' canopy - otherwise the canopy would be extremely tall to be able to place the MHs roughly 10inches off the water.
-2 48" Actnic VHOs ONLY on for Sunrise/Sunset - another reason why I think a closed top would be best, so I could mount these inside.
-2 ReepKeeper Lunar Pods for night viewing. Again, mounted inside.

Everything enclosed on top, just the MHs Pendents basically sitting on top of the canopy.
More looking at actual structural design, doors/access panels, possible vent/fan holes, etc...

I know that heat build up is going to be an issue. Jay: I was thinking the same thing as it would probably be relatively cheap to get 6 or 8 ... Or 12 CPU fans Installed to the back of the canopy, alternating air flow. Additionally, have them run through the RKE so that they stay on for x amount of time after the MHs go off as well as programmed tank temp alert to automatically surf off MHs, leave fans on and even turn on another large fan in the stand/over the sump if water temp gets to high.

Just have the fans run on a temp controller system. When the temp hits your goal, then have them turn on.

I got some cheap aquarium fans from amazon, which were just computer fans strung together. 3 fans for like $15.

Haha, thanks Dre :) finally getting around to this upgrade but like I keep saying .... I want to do it the right way. As a noob I took shortcuts and lost fish, coral, etc -don't want to throw all that money away (not to mention these are living objects). That's why I keep posting equipment questions, etc and regardless of topic nearly every thread posted I read to learn as much as I can from the wealth of knowledge/experience we have here on CR (plus I have ALOT of downtime at work).

Got a build thread going, will but getting updates going again soon -getting soothe planning done first - tank is up and cycling, have all the equipment -now its hooking it all together.

Exactly what I was thinking, just want to side on the overkill side sonthat it I do get overheating, the issue can be resolved quickly.

Anyone have any guesses on the number and size of fans that's would be sufficient ... I have no idea

I would have 2 on each long end blowing in and 4 across the back blowing out and 2 on the top blowing out, so a total of 10.

Not sure if 200mm / 700RPM, will be good for this or might be to weak

Will push a ton of air volume, just low velocity, like using a vortech pump in your tank. You want a good mix of diameter to rpm speed to minimize noise and move air. 120mm around 2000 rpm would be good combination to cool a canopy, one flowing cool air in, one drawing hot air out.

George does that mean I could get away with just 2? Again, rather error on the overkill side of things - that way if the house gets hot too it buys me more time.

Also don't want it sounding like a helicopter taking off...

Not necessarily, but run in pairs to equalize flow in and out. And run them on opposite ends of the canopy to flow across the full surface of the water.

i went to science and surplus got one 4 inch fan right on top of both tank canopy have em hooked to cheap ebay controllers with the heater so if tank gets cold heater kicks on if gets warm fan turns on and one degree after that my chiller will kick on. just in case. chiller kicked on maybe twice this summer. fan was new for like 17$ and controller was $26 on ebay. not sure the rpms but pretty powerful i just have it sucking the hot air out . works for me

+1 for science and surplus. I got the wallwort from there but I have reg CPU case fans that I got from a local guy. You guys think 8 fans to cool a diy fixture of 60 leds is too much fan?? If so, I guess I can spare some for Dan...........

Found afew options online at Science & Surplus:

Much Larger... To large?

From Kest. Measures 6-3/4" wide x 5-7/8" tall x 2" thick, spins at 3100 RPM, draws 730mA at 120VAC, pushes 240 CFM with a 7-blade impeller and has (2) 12" leads. UL/CSA.
$33.95/Each

Then I would need some sort of controller/driver for these...
