PraziPro Question

Hi all,

I have 4 fish in QT right now, this is my first time using PraziPro, I have 4 fish in the same QT tank. (40 Breeder)

-Melanarus Wrasse
-2 Bangai Cardinals
-Midas Blenny

I did my first dose of PraziPro last night ever, I did about 1 3/4 TSP since I am running about 30g in the breeder.

Now, on the directions it says to repeat if necessary after 3-5 days? Do I have to do large water change before I dose again? Or should I not even dose again?

None of the fish show ICH symptoms so I wanted to run prazi and then observe for a few weeks and if ich rises, I'll use cupramine as necessary.

I just have never used Prazi before and seen a lot of good success.

Looking for info on, after the first Prazi treatment... 3-5 days from now, after just regular top off water, do I do a water change and treat again? Or do I just re-treat same water and let run 3-5 days, and then do a large water change?

Thanks!

When I use Prazi Pro I add one dose wait 5 days then do a 25% water change and then dose again. I always go through two cycles as Prazi seems to be gentle on most fish and will take care of any worms, flukes and other internal issues. Every fish I get goes through a prazi pro treatment.

Then do you always treat for ich? Or just observe and if all looks good after prazipro add to tank?

Prazi Pro will not treat ich but I assume all fish have it so I treat for it. I have been adjusting my quarantine protocol but typically I copper everything before it goes into my system. I have a 500 gallon systems with lots of fish and breeding pairs of clowns so I am over protective.

I am experimenting with some choloquin laced foods which are supposed to treat ich and brook but its too early to tell how reliable it is.

My typical quarantine procedure is 3-6 months. I usually use copper, prazi and metro during the process. If anything else pops up then I treat accordingly. The fish do not get moved into my display until they have not shown symptoms of anything for 3 months. My procedure is probably completely overkill but I have had two major disease outbreaks in the past that wiped out my tanks and it just not worth risking that again.

I'd like some feedback on the laced food, of course when you are ready.
