The sid im using works ,no problem, on the pc4"s. I bought a pass-through coupling to program the head unit. I bought the one that DA says to buy. I am getting no pass through. Can anyone help. I am felling very defeated.

Did you make sure no pc4's or any other module were connected when you plugged the Sid into the headunit? It will only update one module at a time

my impression is also that each module has to be connected directly to the SID only for updating. Is the coupling just a female/female BUS adapter or something else?

correct only one at the time. I have read the online instructions several times. The problem is the coupling I am using with the head unit. My REEf sees the SID. IT sees the pc4's. I tested the coupling by using the sid-cupling-buss cable-pc4. My Reef cant see the pc4....so I know the problem is in the coupling

I just sent my unit to DA for similar reasons... I might be able to help diagnose.

Just to clarify?

Myreef > SID - myreef recognizes sid
Myreef > SID > PC4 - my reef recognizes pc4
Myreef > SID > HEAD UNIT > PC4 - myreef does not recognize pc4?

Are both cables going in to the coupling "known working"? If you're using a coupling now and weren't before you had to add a cable too right? If not then you have it isolated to either a bad or wrong coupling. Cut n' splice instead of the coupling maybe? Are you doing this over a really long BUS? I think I read that the signal degrades pretty quickly over distance.

Myreef > SID > Coupling> buss cable> PC4 - myreef does not recognize so My Reef sees pc4. But if I use the coupling( just to test) My Reef sees SID only

hey Mitch you need to check if the coupling adapter is a 6 pin. you can make your own too with two female rj12 jacks with six pins. do you have the new sid or old one?

can it see anything through the coupling? Have you tried just the head through the coupling? SID>coupling>BUS cable>head unit? I take it you are trying to avoid moving the PC4 unit closer to skip the coupling. I have MyReef on a laptop if that might help. I also might not be understanding what you are trying to do at all, but you sound desperate so I'm throwing it out there :)

I have a SID 2.0 that is updated. My Reef can't see anything past the coupling..... Head unit nor dc4 ner nutin. I am using a rj12 6 pin pass through.
