so a while back I posted about my absolute protein skimmer well with the new build I have a new one, so I took pics.
 
the blue piece is the vinturi valve. the line runs to the bottom hole. the water flows out the top after swirling and foaming. the skimmate comes out the top.
 
works awesome. the one I have on my tv tank realy gets the crap out. and my water stays crystal clear.
 
and I take a water bottle with a piece of air tubing and syphon out the detritus water. it is so nasty my ol lady makes me dump it in the toilet.
 
just play with how deep it sits in the water and use the ball valve to dial it in just like the $100 one.
 
that's how I got the idea. no I did some community service at a place that had a bar. I have a you tube video of it my other one running. I'll look to see what the title is.
 
Very cool Mike. Could you please show more of your skimmer? I want to see your water pump and where it is in relation to your skimmer. Also want to see the tube inside the vodka bottle, how far you have it protruding, and if possible, the bubbles inside the vodka bottle. How do you secure the vodka bottle so that you can lift it higher or lower?
 
Nice little nifty DIY you got there. Thats what i love about this hobby, DIY FTW!
