Now it's everywhere. How do I kill it.??Tried to rip it off. It only comes back with a vengeance. Taking the rock is out of the question. I'm out of ideas.

I believe they tend to try to make their way up your tank. Just place some rock on top of tank or any part of tank they are at and let them move to that rock that you can take out and cook.

Just epoxy the whole area and leave it for a couple of weeks. It will die under no light. You can then take off all the epoxy.

hemostat clamp with curved tip. Use the curved side against the rock right at the base and then slowly twist and peel. It will come right off. if you tear it it spreads, but if you are gentle it will be a gift to another newbie :) It's also hilarious the way it all inflates at once when you pinch it really hard at the base. . . I mean, I just meant that xenia is funny when. . . oh nevermind. Just get a curved hemostat and try it (On the XENIA).

I would just grab the edge of it and break it off in chunks with my hands. It's pretty easy.

like the two part epoxy stuff? Doesn't that bond to or break the rock. People hold up entire scapes with that. It's not very reassuring if you can simply pull it off. Is it that it just takes a little of the rock along with it? Very interesting.

If you have a ton in your tank, dont kill them in there. You dont want rotting xenias in there, unless you kill them off slowly little bits at a time.

That putty that you knead will pull apart and off. I hate that stuff...but it has it's purposes.

^^^ yup, I am talking about jb water weld and the epoxy you buy from lfs. It does hold small rocks and frag plugs to the rocks but it does peel or break off with some pressure.

i had some die when it got loose and ended up in the sand. but be carful the guy at the lfs was just talking about xenia melt down wipping out tanks.

+1 on the hemostat idea. I do it when i do WC's and get rid of them one by one... keeps em under control at least... tho it's not all gone still.

I have some on the base of an SPS mini colony I bought from sea schor this weekend. I plan on removing the colony and regluing to my rockwork, the old base I'll throw in the sump
