QUARANTINE ??????? s

just set up a quarantine in the basement 40 gallons of water in ,heaters on , and added an air stone .. bare bottum and a few pieces of PVC for privacy ... what temp u guys run ? im assuming cupramine and is .50 good . had some cooper aid came with a tank set up i purchased but not enuf gunna buy more after lunch when i make a trip to the LFS
thnx in advance Bryan

I run QT the same temp as my reef. No need to change it up unless the specific infection/parasite calls for differet treatment.

When i qt i set temp and salinity at same as my reef that way less stress to fish plus then when i chick them back in i feel less guilty about just throwing them in

Will you be treating current fish or new incoming fish?
I have a QT set up with all the items you have on yours. When mine is on standbye for new fish i dont have the heaters or power heads on. But i do keep a barrel of mixed water with couple rocks and power head so i can always take that water and heat it up when i feel i will be getting a new fish. Usually quarterly.

So if you will medicate then it turned into a hospital tank...id invest in chloroquine phosphate as its once and done. So new fish get a tank and housed there for 30 days of CP then into the DT.

I would try to replicate my DT(temp, salinity). Do you guys use any preventative meds or health boosters while in QT?

so you add this along with copper (cupermine ) ?
thnx Bryan

NLS Ich Shield bath power is CP. You do not need to use copper with it. It is quite effective and less toxic than copper.

No. Dont mix medicines as you will not know what worked.
As far as medicines go. Chloroquine phosphate is proven to cure everything. But if a disease is present in a system a fallow period must occur for it to die out.

Chloroquine phosphate works best for new fish with visible signs prior to entering a known clean system.

Public aquariums use it. I dont know what the nls is..but if others post success with it then you can go based of that aswell. I managed to get some in bulk powder as i stated i would after the velvet outbreak i had.

MarkMakina had a group buy going on last summer and not many had interest in it but i highly recomment reading on it.

Thanks
