Question???

So I set up a small frag tank about 3 weeks ago and I plumbed it into my main display. Is it normal for the new tank to have a diatom bloom? There are no signs of the diatoms in the main display. Any ideas??

No sand. Just some egg crate and a couple power heads.

Is the light on for extended periods of time? That can cause diatoms.

New eggcrates can also leech out silicates. Just let it run its course
