Just lost power in the whole house!!!!!!! My tank is a concern but more of a concern is we have no heat! Good thing my 3 y/o is going to preschool. And it's not super freezing. Just called nips I and they sending someone out to look into it. Oh yea, I work midnight a and I'm supposed to be going to bed!

No didn't forget bill. But I do have two battery operated back up air pumps. Opened up and found out bastards take size d batteries and well there ain't none here!

So my wife gunna pick up batteries so I can get the air pumps airating the water. Would that be good enough if this is longer term outage or should I also ask my wife to use a spoon and swirl around the water every so often?

I would think, and I have nothing to back this up, that if you put a stone in opposite corners of the tank it would be enough.

Should b good short term... Heat loss may be ur issue... Don't let water get too cold...

I just lost 75% of my corals and 100% of my fish due to the recent storm here in Jersey. You're airstons should be fine for airate your water. But as "rosko23" said, defenitaly watch your tempature. That's what ended up killing my tank.

If the temp starts to drop, boil freshwater and pour it into ziplock bags or plastic water bottles. This method helped me for a while.

Good luck!!

He's trying to move to Chicago... Besides, what's the harm in having people from other areas?

I said the same thing on chat, but someone set me straight on the fact that he's trying to come back to the area. Otherwise, no, I don't think people in non-neighboring states should be welcome. We've had too many people try to sell us stuff and infiltrate our dysfunctional but tight-knit family...it doesn't fly, lol
