Red knobby starfish

So I bought one of these a few weeks ago. Maybe 2" in size and was pretty much on the move all the time. Yesterday it was on the front glass with a chunk missing on one of its arms. Today it be dead on the sand bed. I have a pair of black o's, a royal gramma, 2 bangaii, a small 6 lined wrasse, 2 chromis, and a pair of cleaner shrimp. Would they take a bite?

Are you sure there are no crabs in there you might not be aware of?

I guess I overlooked those. I one big mutha electric blue and some smaller blue legged crabs. never really saw them doing anything but it is possible.

Crabs are ALWAYS opportunistic feeders, but I'm not used to hermits doing that. How big is "big mutha?"

it took out a turbo for a new shell and its about 1 1/2". Ill get a pic one of these days

Like I said, I don't know if a hermit would do it, but scavengers are scavengers. A big piece of meat that can't move very quickly.... it's a crabs dream.
