Hi guys i live on the third floor of an apartment building and i am having problems with heat issues up there with my tank its an open top but yesterday it got to 80• any suggestions?

Get a fan to fan the top of your tank. That usually works. If you need more cooling, need to invest on a chiller. Smaller tanks heat up faster, so if it starts to get really warm out, you need your AC on.

Well, I purposely run my tanks between 81-82 degrees year round because I run acro tanks. Average reef temps are in the 82-84 range.

If you are worried about heat, just use a fan. A single fan can drop the tank 3-5*. I used to use a jbj C-Breeze fan that worked great.

83 ? I run mine 78 to each there own i guess . But yea fans work or get chiller

sorry to hijack but yes, ask any diver, average reef temps are 83 degrees, with as high as 86 on the surface, the reason for the ubiquitous "78" is because of some of the fish and invert species people like to keep are deeper colder water animals, but corals prefer 80+ deg temps
