return pump for 320 gallon tank

If i decide to use the reeflow blowhole 1450 with 1 inch intake and return can i use 1 1/2 inch pipe for the intake and return and bush it at the pump and tank return to minimize head loss or do i need to stay with the size on the pump? i will be using closed loop or power heads or wave pumps for the rest of the flow.

You want to use a 2'' intake and maintain whatever diameter for return.Works best that way.I have same sized tank and use this method.
