rimless tank mesh lids?

hey guys, i recently got a rimless tank 20x20x20 high, but my current fish already jumped out, this forces me to use a lid,

i want something super super clean ( that is why i wanted rimless) what have others done? mesh lid? glass?

for mesh, i was thinking to buy 3/8" thick acrylic square rod, and glue them into a square, then take the mesh and sew it with fishing line around the edges to the acrylic rod, ------ has anyone tried this?

my other option is to get a glass top that is perfectly cut to fit on the tank! One problem, the lid will create condensation on it, (dont want that) is there a way to cut slots in the glass? i would buy a glass square and cut long lines across the lid, maybe 10 inches long, every 2 inches apart... IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?

any thoughts? if you have found a way to add a lid, while still making it clean, can you post a picture?

thank you

All my rimless tanks use the aluminum frame with mesh screen. Brs sells kit or u can buy frame from local store and mesh from goat here.

I do the same, aluminum window screen frame with BRS clear mesh. I went one step further to clean up the look. I built the frame to fit inside the tank. I then built clear acrylic L corners and riveted them to the top of the frame. The L corners sit on the rim of the tank allowing the top of the screen to be inside the tank, flush with the top of the glass. All you see above the tank are the clear L corners. The aluminum frame blends in with the tank edge and has very little visual impact.

I see... I did the aluminum stuff on.my bigger tank... but was wondering if there was even a clear t version. I might try that.

I looked but could not find clear framing. I then played around with my acrylic sheets to check rigidity. I was not happy with the amount of flex the acrylic gave as compared to similar sized aluminum. I would have had to use much larger acrylic to span 4'. The aluminum worked out to be a cleaner look.

Josh can you post a picture of what you did? I'm also in the process of setting up a rimless tank and looking for the same advice. Your set up sounds like what I want to do.
