Poor little guy had very labored breathing. By the time I got the QT tank up and running he was a goner. He was my favorite fish in my nano. Drat!

Not sure what got him. Though he was wafishly thin I am pretty sure he didn't starve to death, he has been eating sinking pellets pretty reularly. I almost cut him open to take a look inside because suspect he might have swallowed a piece of glass from a thermometer that broke in my tank many months ago. I still occasionally find little bits of glass that work their way to the top of my sand. Anyway, I didn't do that because the wife would have freaked.

Dang. Should I ditch the glass thermometer?

I still use a glass thermometer but I make sure they float before they find a permanganate home in my tank. The thermometer I had prior (to the glass thermometer I currently use) slipped out of the suction cup holder and sunk to the bottom, and shattered on a rock, instead of floating. Before that incident I just assumed all thermometers floated in water. Lesson learned!

I use a stick on to! but with my new tank i think ill fork it out on the digi! Sorry to hear never fun to loose a fish! :(
