Rock dipping!!

Whats the purpose of doing this? do you have pest? I also think it depends on how much rock you wanna dip at once. Could start an unwanted mess.
 
When I set my 65 up a month ago I dipped all of my LR in peroxide mix about 50/50 for 10 minutes. I had about 30lbs. Just rinse it real good in fresh ro and put it straight in the dt. Got rid of everything unwanted.
 
Yea you just want to rinse it really good in fresh water and make sure all the peroxide comes off. If it doesn't the peroxide will cause instability in your tank.

Be VERY careful with this man. I did that... And it may have been the cause to one of my issues. The peroxide will kill all the algae... Especially coralline. It will b hot pink then white then it will start to crumble and die off into water. I wish I just tossed the rock. It was all bc one dang aipstasia that wouldn't die. If it was me... I would not put back in again til it was completely dead and cycled again.
