Rockheads 120 build

I don't see anything wrong with it...dual drains will work just fine, just 2 filter socks to clean vs one. What will you have to the right of the return pump, your reactors?.

Reactors will be in towards the back wall the skimmer and pump will be to the front for easy access / cleaning

I think it will work fine, but I'd plumb both drains into the same section. Also, having your skimmer in the same chamber as your return could cause bubbles to get to your DT.

I regretted not having a fuge area in my sump and had to add a small hob fuge due to space restrictions.

For what it's worth, I have my skimmer and return in the final stage of my sump and don't get any micro bubbles.

That being said, my bigger issue and difficulty is the keeping the water level ABSOLUTE for optimal skimmer performance. I have a tunze 3155 ATO but IME even small fluctuations in water level can cause skimming performance inconstancy.

So, in my next system I will keep an absolute skimmer height via baffle rather than ATO.

My sump (edited w/ different photo to show better profile of water level)

Thank you for the feed back , know that I think about it more I'll probably go with the tried and true sump (one end to the other)

nice work Tom. Something to consider for the next build I've grown quite fond of for my fish wood, several coats of tung oil.
