Hey guys just got some new salt to day and was wondering if any of you guys use it, I will not be doing a water change till next weekend with it as I just finished up with my TM bio salt any imputed would be grate from you guys. I don't think it was a bad deal $69 for 225 gallon and I did read that dose have a continuous salinity of 1.025 every batch

used it for a long time, stopped using it because i was having problems keeping my parameters stable. Come to find out my salt was mixing crazy low numbers. Switched to Instant ocean and haven't looked back.

So would you recommend testing every batch I make up for my water changes? It was going to be this or red sea I was using instant ocean and I was having high calcium levels

if u read up on it, u'll see other people have had the same problem with salinity. It doesn't like to stay mixed for long periods of time which is what i do at home. I'd just check every time u mix it.

OK I mix up mine the same day that I am doing a water change, I don't make it days b4 so I hope I'll be ok.

I use it, it's been fine. But I do small daily water changes and by the time the Brute can is done, a lot of something has precipitated on the walls. My parameters have been pretty solid, but I don't have a lot of demand in my tank either.

I've been using it for a while now. It's been pretty consistent for me. I mix it the night before. I like the alk to be low at around 9 since I use bio pellets. No complaints here.

No complaints either. I use it now and have been extremely happy with my parameters, but may start spot checking now just to be sure since I mix my salt up days in advance.

Do you dose anything? Schould I be adding anything or will I be ok to just do my weekly water change?

Depends on how much your coral uses up. I dose 2 part to keep alkalinity and calcium where it needs to be. My mag doesn't seem to fluctuate much and is relatively high so no major concerns there.

I recommend doing a water change, test your alk and calc immediately after and note the time of day. Then a week later retest your alk and calc and divide by 7. This would give you your average daily consumption. If it doesn't my change much then you can certainly manage it by WCs but as soon as you get a higher coral load you will definitely need to dose.

To give you an idea of what I dose, with my current coral uptake, I'm at about 11ml of each 2 part daily. I had to raise it last week when my alk started to dip over the course of a week.

OK I really need to get in gear and start doing better testing on my tank do I know what it needs

Honestly, it was only when I started testing regularly and dosing that I had success with SPS.
