salinity question?

ok guys my 37 gallon is at a salinity of 1.020 and I need to rase it up how do I go about doing this I have never had to do:dontknow: this b4
 
Top off with saltwater little by little every day (not RO/DI water)..then you be fine. Don't raise the Salinity quick.
 
Im in the process of doing this.my 34g is full at .021 salinity.I need. To have mine around the .025 mark because I have a reef tank.Fish only are good at around .19-.022.

So Im gonna syphon about 15% of the water and add in batches new water with a higher salinity until I reach the .025.If I were to increase my salinity from .022 to .025 it could really piss off my inverts/coral.

Reason why my galaxea coral died over time, temp and salinity swings during water changes

I also am running a reef but have always been around 1.024 never have had this happen

I use a cheap hydrometer,so its a give or take.
but when i take it to the lfs to get tested, it reads good at .025-26.


Coral prefer salinity higher up ,just gradually top off your tank and make sure to mix the salt and water well with a powerhead and match temp because in smaller tanks this all makes a huge impact.

I was using one of those plastic ones before then I ordered a brand new reflectometer just got it in today I'll take a water sample with me tomorrow to work and get it tested on the way home
