Salt Differences for Quarantine

I have an interesting question.

I'm going to be running my tank fallow for about 2-3 months to help get rid of the ich that has been plaguing my tank for awhile. I currently use Aquavitro Salinity salt mix, which if you aren't aware, is pretty expensive for what it is.

I'm going to be setting up a QT tank to hold all my fish for the time, and I was wondering if I could use like Reef Crystals or even regular Instant Ocean for the quarantine tank, while sticking to Salinity for my DT? Would I just need to do a normal drip acclimation for the fish to adjust them to the new salt? Even if the salinity was the same?

And since my tank has never really been super coral intensive, I've been thinking about switching to Reef Crystals to save me some money, as well as it is a lot easier to find. What should I do to start switching the salt?

Cheapest salt possible, no special acclimation for salt, if temp/ph/sg is the same, you're good to go.

+1, I would also add that you could lower your salinity during QT to save some money too. You could just drop the fish in a few points lower without worrying about acclimation and the week before just let evaporation bring you back up to your DT salinity level.

I wouldn't do this if your QT involves copper or other medications. You want the transition to the DT to include as little stress as possible, especially if your QT regimen includes any kind of dip right before going into the DT.

I'm going to be dosing cupramine about a week or two after moving them from the DT to the QT tank. I'll then let them sit in QT for about a month or so after I stop dosing the cupramine. The DT will run fallow the entire time to make sure the ich is completely gone. I have no issue with keeping my QT at 1.025, I just wanted to make sure I could use cheaper salt for it instead of using the Salinity.
