Sealing bulkheads

Hey everyone, been reading some ideas about long term sealing of bulkheads. Its obvious that over time the rubber breaks down and can cause leaks, so what are some other long term options? I've seen people use silicone on both sides before and they claim it works really well. I just don't have the availability of draining my tank for the closed loop inlet and outlet bulkheads.

I used pvc glue on my 210 in and out and under seals however ill never use anything again because i had to cut off which was a super pain
