From what I've read they are like belugas, they prefer to be in small tanks. A 55 is a little big, but you could probably get way with it.

that's an interesting thought. They're a mammal so I don't think anything other than temperature should matter. (Sorry to bust into the hilarious thread with a real question )

then again, why wouldn't we see more mammals making it into fresh or brackish water around the world if that were the case. Maybe they would need to be drip acclimated.

Maybe it has something to do with how they regulate their salt content. Not like fish do where they can suffer from osmotic shock. I mean... land mammals regulate their own salt intake but if they live in the ocean they would not need to do that? I dunno. I don't have any proof to back this up, just theorycrafting.
