To preface this, I hate my 160w 16000k razor. While it does keep my mixed LPS/Zoa/Nem tank happy, it is impossible to get the color I want with the intensity I'm looking for. You either get too much white, too much purple, or too much "windex" blue. The chips they chose border on silly and while I do appreciate the fact that they used a mixture of warm white/cool white rather than using any red, they used too much warm white and too much blue instead of royal blue. People are claiming that the new 15000k pucks that are available carry a much nicer spectrum, but for the same price I'm just pulling the LED pucks and retrofitting my own CREE chips based on the DIY spectrum I've been using for years that I am happy with.
I have had Radions, China Black Box, Maxspect, DIY, Mainland, Fluval, PAR38 (both coral compulsion and eBay), and a few others. I have also seen quite a few Kessil lit tanks but have never personally owned one. The only LED fixtures I've been truly happy with have been my all CREE DIY fixtures or modified Par38s. Too much trending in all the off the shelf fixtures and frankly they all end up with sub-par spectrums, which is why they are constantly changing. I would also never use a Kessil on an SPS dominant tank. They are great lights but the nature of their dense matrix chip leads to immense shading which simply does not "jive" with grown out SPS colonies. I would however choose a Kessil over any other off the shelf fixture for an LPS/Softy/Zoa tank if I was not comfortable with DIY. The lenses on their new fixture is supposed to help with the shading, but not enough info out there yet to form a real opinion. I'm sure those lenses will make their way to their "cannon" style fixtures in time as well. Keep in mind these are all just my opinions based on someone who has the experience listed above with these fixtures. Your mileage may vary.
All of that being said, my lighting schedule is (keep in mind it automatically ramps):
TP1 10:00 - A:0% B:1%
TP2 10:30 - A:0% B:10%
TP3 15:00 - A:45% B:70%
TP4 19:30 - A:50% B:75%
TP5 21:00 - A:0% B:60%
TP6 23:30 - A:0% B:1%
My reefkeeper turns the fixture off at 1:00am and on at 9:30am so that the moonlights don't run all night. Even at 1% the blue channel is WAY too bright to leave on all night.
Good luck!
