Now that I'm getting more towards sps I have a question about the shortcake. What's the difference between the Australian and northerly woods? Is there really a difference in growth pattern or color or is it all in the name for lineage?

Strawberry ShortCake is a color combination more than anything. There are several aquaculture species/variants each with possible structures or even species. As for mariculutured, I can't even guess how many variants/species there are.

IMO it comes down to ones you like the color and structure of at a price that's reasonable.

I ask because proreefcorals.com has the Australian one and the northerly woods one but a little too much blue for me to tell what they really look like. But I'll probably go with the aussie

Only dif inoticed is some have little brighter colorsand growth pattern but that all can be from lighting and flow

I have 3 SC's in my tank and they all look different, except for the colors.
