Picked up/used Ge silicone I on my sump baffles lastnight. I noticed on the back it specifically says "not for use below water line or aquriums" -I could understand that 'not for aquriums part due to the pressure...

That's what I used. I think a lot of it has to do with long term liability, like if you used that to build a tank, and then it broke down in 20 years you can't hold them liable.
 
I used it on my sump baffles and never had a problem. Also I noticed Menards does NOT sell the GE Silicone, FYI to anyone looking for any. ACtually found mine at True Value.
 
Alright that was my thoughts as well, just wanted to make sure.

yah I found out Menards doesn't carry it either, but Ace did.

Speaking of Menards -I'm there now picking up/returning stuff -dude in front of me is arguing with the manager about returning a rug, manager literally says "sir, by the amount of alcohol I can clearly smell on your breath there's nothing I can do for you"Dude literally goes "I don't care how much you smell in my breath blah blah blah"

wtf, your drunk at 11am at Menards causing a huge scene w/ an off-duty cop standing by the doors along with myself and 1/2 dozen others ppl...

I've used it and if u do a google search pretty sure a bunch of people have also used. The other I mentioned is the one aquarium builders use. A little more money and not found in ACE. Need to goto Grainger to find it.
