Stand question

Ok so now that I'm about to have 3 small tanks running I would like them all on one big stand so I don't have different looking stands considering they are all going to be next to each other on one wall. Right now I'd have 2 wood and 1 metal. I want to build 1 single stand to house all 3 tanks and the sumps. The main thing I'm worried about is bracing the top so there's not all the weight on cross beams of the stand. I'd hate for a tank to fall through.

How do I put the cross braces so the screws aren't the only thing holding it up. Or any other ideas to keep it as sturdy ad possible

I think this is a pretty common stand frame. The center brace isn't load bearing, so you don't need anything more than screws holding it in place.

But ill have 3 different size tanks on it. Deep Blue 30, standard 29, and 27 cube

Put a piece of 1/2" ply over the top and it will be more than strong enough. for whatever tank you want to put on it.

I was just worries the 3 tanks being different weights and some not being over the cross beam might come through. But if your confident then hell I'll try it

29 on one side, 30 on the other, 27 in the middle. They are all going to be relatively close in weight barring any huge differences in rockwork.

29 has most rock then the 27 has about half the amount and none for the 30

Use 1/2 inch and 2 supports like in the pic and it will hold a semi literally

I can help you out with the construction. Just need to have some time set aside to come do it... I have a pocket drill and all the tools

I've got all the wood except the plywood
And since I'm shutting Down the 29 it's only going to be 48 x 28 x 34

I would add two cross braces to the bottom area and sheet it also for the sumps.

The only other thing I would add is to get a nice epoxy paint to cover it when done. The epoxy holds up to salt water. If you sheet it with some nice wood and would like to see the grain still I like to use automotive clear coat as it is also very durable.
