Still working on getting back in....

hey guys-

As the title states, I'm still working on getting back in. My JBJ 28 gallon Nano is taking forever to come along (since July of last year) since you all convinced me to build a better stand... :) Well the stand is mostly done. We created a custom concrete countertop for it that I'm waiting for a little nicer weather to do a stain and several coats of sealer to it before I put a tank on it. But I gotta get back into the hobby, it's like crack...

So I was thinking about setting something up at work. Does anyone have a tank at work? How hard is it to do maintenance and stuff without your "normal" fish equipment at home? I was thinking about a 4 or 8 gallon AIO like the Aqueon Evolve or an IM Nuvo. Anybody have a preference? I have seen you can do some pretty nice mods to the Evolve to make it pretty nice. Also, has anyone seen one of these cheap? I know the Evolve is like 69 or 99 at PetCo, and I don't know a good price for an IM Nuvo. Any help you guys can give me into the world of these smaller tanks would be greatly appreciated. Coming from a 90G, this is like foreign territory to me.

Thanks,

Matt

Welcome back. Is it your company or are you just an employee there? If you just work there I would clear it with the boss as I know some places wouldn't allow it. If you do get the go ahead I would plan on having all the necessary equipment at the office too. I would do some softies and zoas as you probably wouldn't have to worry about dosing with normal water changes. I think it would be cool to have a tank at work, but then again it requires time and energy to maintain and the last thing I want to do at work would be to stay late and take care of another tank. Make sure you have an ATO for your work tank as I am sure you won't be stopping in over the weekend to top it off and maybe even an auto fish feeder as you won't be there to feed it either. GL with starting back up.

Yea it's a small company, about 20 people so we are all friends and like a family here. The boss would never stop me from setting up a tank.. in fact, we are talking about getting an "office puppy" to reduce stress and get a break from the daily grind. I thought the same thing about not wanting to maintain it and everything, but then a side of me said, I'm here at the office more than I'm at home, so I should have a tank here.. :) I plan on only doing softies like zoa's and ric's, I definitely don't want to deal with all the dosing needed for SPS.
