Tank Drilling

I really wanna drill my 55 gallon tank everything is drained and ready to go. Only thing is im missing is the bits, my pops only has a 25mm diamond hole, which may be a little too small. Does anyone out in the west burbs have a 1" and 3/4" bit i can borrow or that would be willing to help me drill it?

I can tell if the tank it tempered and it had no signs of be tempered. Soo im pretty thats false.

The bottoms tempered on new and semi new 55 gallons but the side and front/back panels are not tempered.
 
Ya this tank isnt new. Its actually pretty old. Hey jlee so you have both sizes?

GB, you're a smart guy, right? Haha...that's an inside joke between me and him. PM DB9181 and see if he can help you out. I have a 55G tank and stand for uber cheap if you're in need of a replacement.

Lol, no, Dan might have the bits you may need. I have a tank if the drilling doesn't go right the first time, lol...
 
i would have lost money on a bet that you can't drill a 55. I hate things like that that everyone believes, but they're complete BS. If you guys have really drilled a 55 I believe it, but I feel like the world lied to me. It's like Santa Claus all over again. . . :hmpf:

to tell if a tank is temperd put a laptop screen in the tank and if it looks weird its tempered... I seen it on google .... never tried it
 
Ok so im pretty sure that i need 1 1/2" for the drain. Thats pretty standard right? The bulkhead i have is definatly 1 1/2".
