Tank on carpet

I'm gonna be moving next month and all the rooms are carpeted. Having the setup on carpet scares me a little since I don't want to ruin it with a spill. Does anyone have their setup on carpet? Should I put plastic under the stand?

All my tanks have been on carpet except for my QT system in the garage. Its not so bad. Just have a pile of "fish" towels and a spare roll of paper towels in case of the inevitable spill. You should be fine.

I would silicone the inside of the stand, and just be careful, lol. My 55 is on carpet. If there's a buildup of salt, just use a highly concentrated vinegar solution to break it down. Had that one happen ;)

I was thinking of scotch guarding the hell out of the rug. Not sure if it will help but I think I'll feel a little better.

Mine's on carpet, and it's been fine, even when I had 10 gallons of RO drain through the floor. The carpet will get wet, but as long as you dry it well and air it out, it'll be fine. :D

My top off line came out of its container and drained all over my basement and soaked it...as long as you dry it out real well it will be fine...I'm also drop saltwater all over it and it's fine
