Ok so a quick question i have to replace the bottom pane of glass on a tank. The piece that broke was tempered, no my question is do i have to replace it with another piece of tempered? Or can i use plate?

Ok cool i need the piece to be 1/2" tempered was gunna try and get a qoute from glass cages. Anyone know any local shops that carry that size with good prices?

i would just put a piece of tempered back in there. look into a mirror or window shop. they might cut their own stuff.
 
The tank is 72"x24"x24" so this piece is massive! So im hoping this wont break the bank. Do i need to tank the bottom rim off to do the repair?

Plywood! Lol

I'd check a window place. Or see if you can find a tank that has a broken side and take the bottom.
 
Steveo knows about this tank! Ya man the bottom is shattered so i need to take the bottom rim off. I need to find a place to store this monster!
