Thanksgiving weekend

Hello All,

I mentioned in a previous thread that I'm trying to move to Chicago (From dirty Jersey). My wife and I have interviews scheduled Wednesday before and Friday after Thanksgiving.

Can recommend some fun activities that our 20 month old daughter will enjoy? Don't think a whole lot will be open Thursday.

Thank you!

This is a big city, especially when you factor in the burbs. knowing where you'll be might help narrow things down a bit.

Yeah I even think the museum of science of industry is open super hands on for kids and super fun look it up

Thanks for the ideas! museum of science of industry is open on Thanksgiving?

I'm not sure if I'm going to stay downtown or by my buddy in Skokie.

Never mind, just looked online, museum of science of industry is closed Thanksgiving day.

Keisha, is Chiantown mostly individual stores that we'll have to walk outdoors to?

not sure about thursday, but if you want to venture out to the western burbs there is a place called bounce town, that is great for kids. its indoors and has a lounge for the adults. the whole place is just like one big inflatable park. its really cool

p.s. on your way swing thru Philly and bring me a Pats cheesesteak with wiz and onions.... nothing like that here in the mid-west

Are you moving to the city? The Lincoln Park Zoo should be open and the best part, it's free!

:) I will happily pick a few of those up for you . . . will probably end up eating them on the drive in. :) Thanks for all the info!

Our Thanksgiving visit fell through. :(

We've have a few phone interviews and 1 offer so far. We are hoping to come out around Christmas time.

I have a question that I'm sure is different for everyone but I'm curious what your thoughts are.

The offer that I was made was for significantly less than what I'm making now. I realize that the cost of living is probably cheaper than where we are now. We'd be looking to move to the Skokie area and have 1 child (21 months old), can anyone tell me the approximate cost of living?

Thank you in advance!

Jay
