I got another pink bta because I lost my last one.. everything was going great till today. My AC decided to take a dump and my house reached 90°. When it finally got fixed and I turned my lights on - the anemone was in my acan garden!! Looks like I'll probably lose 2 acans and my anemone. :(

I'm VERY upset right now.

Chilller!!!!! I stand my saying its a must were we live. It just gets too hot and for a couple hundred bucks you've got an "insurance policy" on your tank.

:( :( one for the nem and acan and one do the ac going out

I think 1 of the acans will pull through. Not 100%. The anemone is dead. Happy I put her in the critter keeper. She was really easy to get out that way. Also lost a green clown goby. :(

I think I might invest in one.. just in case..

Here's a cheap emergency solution. That I used in Virginia beach when it got too hot. Freeze a couple 20 oz soda or water bottles. When the temps start climbing drop one in and moniter your temps.

That sounds good. I tried to put baggies of ice in but they melted too quick. :( My fridge doesn't have an ice maker either, so it was a battle I was losing.

I really hope my air doesn't crap put again though!!

That's the best idea. I bought a case of bottled water and froze as many as I could fit in the freezer in case of an emergency. I've had to use the a couple of times in my 3 tanks.

I love reefers...

I know this info comes too late but you will use it in the future. I would not use plastic baggies because the chances of leaks are higher and the ice will melt too quickly. When the ice is in a plastic bottle it acts as its own insulation because it is a solid chunk. Works no matter how large your tank is, just have to use a larger bottle.

That's what I've been using. I have 4 24oz frozen coke bottles that I rotate to get my temp down. But Eric is right about the chiller. It does give u a peace of mind. Im gonna invest in one as soon as I can.

I used to use the water bottle trick but we just run the AC more now! The other thing I would do is freeze salt water in ice cube trays. That way the cooling effect could be distributed around the tank.
