Unexpected Traveling Nightmare

Hi everyone!

I have a small 10 gallon tank with no Auto-Top off, i'll be gone from Thursday December 21st through January 1st.
Any ideas on how to keep my tank alive for two weeks without being here  ?

I have two clowns that also need food!

What a nightmare!!

I'd recommend a ATO, but for top offs you could set a slow deep if you know how much you evap over that time.

Then get a fish feeder

Best investment I ever made, ATO. Not sure I would go with drip, little dicey on Nano sized. Best thing, find a friend someone you trust, show them quick like where to add, how to add and show them how to feed, then tell them only 1/2 of that. Baby (fish) sitters mostly over feed anyway. Then offer a little cash. We have a dear friend watch my tank and 100lb dog while we are gone, we pay her...

I only have a day to figure this out and i'm new to Chicago, don't know anyone who could come feed my tank/top off my water.

I would buy a ATO but the large majority of them are out of my budget due to holiday spending!
My current ATO is a ziplock bag that slow drips through out the day, this only covers one day :a23:

GugsJr - that's awfully nice of you however that wouldn't solve my top off situation.

Have you guys had any luck with these auto feeders?

I also found this but seems pretty unsafe to leave a weeks worth of food in the tank, especially a nano tank!

depending on whats in your 10 gallon tank .. an ATO is a must on such a small tank regardless of if you are home or not ..

see if anyone is selling an ato in chicago area and grab it ..

for food .. if its just the clowns feed them heavy today and tommorow and they should be fine for 10 days with no feedings .. ( i know it sounds mean but again better than an autofeeder breaking opening and dumping the whole lot and killing them ..

Does it have a sump. Sorry was more to that message lol got distracted. Whats all in the tank coral wise and what not. Can you turn off lights to slow evap or slightly over fill sump if it has it usually buys me about 3 days neighbor watching or friend is the best

If gugsjr is offering to look at them I would take that offer and as far as your water evaporation I would worry about that when you get back do a water change make sure your levels are in order then when everything is good put the clowns back in

Options: 1. Grugjr watch the fish and set up your drip system. Have your container full for the drip system. Let the system run.
Your system should handle a swing of salinity from 1.015 up to 1.035 easily. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong. Make sure your heater and power heads are on the bottom of the tank.
2. Pay someone to watch them at your home.
3. Exactly what tinman said. ( the best overall option since you will have ato for good.)

I run the exact ato that's in that video and never once had an issue. If it were me I'd build 1 and use that. Then you never worry about your zip lock bag again
