Using gfo

I have a phosban 150 and 550 and have gfo. I haven't used it but have heard it helps with high phosphates. But I also heard that when using gfo it also messes with the level of something else in the tank that I dont remember what it was. Should I use it? Fill me In a little if you would please.

The only negative I know of is if you drop p04 too fast by using too much. A couple links on po4 and GFO.

Use a container or tank that will hold enough water to completely cover your clam, and fill it with dechlorinated TAP water. NOT RO, distilled or anything else.

Hmmm...I've never heard of what you're asking about. Let us know if you find out what it is. The only side effect I've ever heard of is related to clams getting pinched mantle. (see the presently active thread about GFO and Clams)
