so, i have been building my biocube reef spent a lot of time and now finally it looks cool and looks kinda filled ..

now the problem is i will be going to India for over a month on vacation (i go every year, which is a reason i didnt start a reef tank till now) this is gonna happen like around June next year.

whats the best way to deal with the tank ? (i had fresh water tanks running on auto feeders and they are all always fine..but a reef tank i soo very different..

Suggestions ?

Pay New Fish. They do tank maintanaince.

Sell all your fish and corals...

Unless you can have someone come and babysit for a few hrs out of the week.. Thats to long of a time IMO.. Just not sure how the auto feeders will work and last that long.. ATO is no issue as you can use big containers to hold water.

no way you can keep your biocube automated for 1 month. find someone to maintain your tank for you. to make it easier on that friend that will babysit, you should get an ATO, autofeeder, timer for your lights, so all they have to do is fill the ATO reservoir and fill the auto feeder, and clean the skimmer. Start using your autofeeder now so you can adjust how much food your fish are getting without overfeeding the tank, since it won't be watched as good while you are gone.

Sounds like so Dre ... autofeeders are no problem with fresh water tanks as those fish are content with flake food and i have a neighbour who is not into aquariums but helped me by taking off any dead fish (i only had one in a month) and to see of the auto feeder needed refills

im sure reef tanks cant be automated for sure.

yea i have timers on my lights and that old autofeeder is still somewhere in my apartment but just pellets is not gonna keep fish or coral happy for that long right? and the alk and ca and phyto dosings ??

true walt but with the money id be paying to them, selling off all live sstock and re-set it again once im back makes more sense i guess

Have you asked for a quote? I can't see small water changes every week being that expensive for a client that is less than 2 miles away.

How big is the tank...you can probably take the tank to another reefers house if it's not too big to relocate.
