Hello all. I am in need of some help. I would like to build a motorized track for my MHs. This way i can run less MHs over my system but still get the same effect. Looking to run 2 over a 6-8 foot tank. Id like both to move from one side to the center and then back again slowly enough that it takes a full light cycle to accomplish this task. Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Mike

Tiki ill look into that. Ive only heard of ppl having to build them. If there are pre built ones and fine with me. More wanted to know if they were out there. Ill look into hydroponics.

It sounds like you would need another motor to ride the rail to do two metal halides. The rail that I have has a set of metal "stops" that you can adjust to set the stop points on the motor. Once the motor hits the stop point that you setup it triggers the switch to change directions and the motor starts moving in the opposite direction. I guess as I am writing this I am wondering if you could design a hanger that has wheels to ride the track and hold a second metal halide. Then use something to tie the motor and this "extra" hanger together, but spaced apart on the rail and have the one motor push or pull the "extra" hanger as it moves?? Might work......

An arduino a stepper motor out of a printer and some aluminum. I have been pondering this for some time. As it saves money but I think it might promote coral spawning if u were to match it to the phase of the moon.
