Water clarity question

My water hasn't been as clear as I would like so I had an idea. I placed a strip of felt that I had bougth for filter socks on top of the foam between the baffle that seperates my fuge and return section. Everyday I have noticed it gets very brown? Any ideas ....maybe the phos remover? View attachment 12792

Thats seriously mucky, espically if only a day of use. Do you run carbon? It cleared my tank up quick.

I have a small cpr tumbler that I use with carbon and RhowaView attachment 12793
The funny thing is I have a light bioload and a NWB-150 skimmer on a 75 gallon

If you use this tumbler for gfo and carbon both of those grind itself to dust. Carbon shouldn't tumble at all and gfo only slightly on top layer. That's why your felt pick up all that stuff so quickly.

Thank you Mark. I got a media bag and hung it in the last section of my sump with the return pump amd filled it with some good carbon. The tumbler I will use for the Rhowa Phos just gently and see how that goes....thanks for the knowledge!
